【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesthedeterminationoftheabilityofanadhesivetoVet'asolidsurfacebymeasuringthecontactangleanddeterminingthecriticalsurfacetensionofwettability.ItallowsthepredictionofwhatadhesivewillwetwhichadherentItmaybeusedtocharacterizesurfacesafterpriming,coatingandbonding.NOTE.1Ingeneralthecontactangleisdependentontheproceedingmotionoftheborderlineoftheliquid(i.e.onthemodeofapplication),avaluebetweentwoborderlinevalues,theadvancingangle(e.g.afteranextensionofadrop)andtherecedingangle(e.g.afterareductionofadrop).Onlyifthisdifferencebetweenboth,termedhysteresisofcontactangle,isnegligible,doesthecontactangleexpressthecriticalsurfacetensiondefinedinthermodynamicsasasubstrate-specificcharacteristicvalue.Normally,thehysteresiswillnotbenegligiblewhentherugositiesareabove0,5mmandwhentheheterogeneousphaseisnotsmallerthan0,1mm.Theshapeoftherugosityisessentialforthehysteresis.NOTE.2Foracomparisonofwettingbehaviour,theadvancingangleshouldalwaysbemeasuredhere.
